Business Cards

Business cards don't have to be boring! With today's technology there's no reason why you can't have full color business cards printed with a unique design! Dare to be different. Instead of a static square box picture of you smiling, what about a picture of you in action — doing whatever it is you do? Give people "relationship clues" so that they can easily associate — your name, your face — with the product or service you offer.

If your company is mostly about a particular product, why not have a picture of the product on the business card — or a picture of you with the product? For instance people who work with animals (veterenary, grooming service, animal shelter or pet shop) might want to have a picture taken with a pet. You might even want your entire staff to each select a different kind of animal.

Having your picture on your card is simply one of the best ways to reinforce recognition — but let's face it — not everyone is in love with the idea of their picture bold and center every time they give out their contact info. If that's you, then rest assured there's plenty of ways to have a professional and memberable card without all the hype of a photo. One way to be unique is to turn your business card up vertically. I would say this though: unless your business is wholely about selling you as a person — your business card ideally should be more about your customer's expectations than your own preferences.

Think about it this way: if your organization is primarily people connecting with people (social) then your business card style should reflect your personality — ultimately you are selling yourself to your customers.

But if your organization is primarily selling a service or a product, then you need to focus the design style of your business cards to that target audience.

Don't forget to ask about creating coordinating letterhead and envelopes.
